How it all started...
In 1971 the first meeting to establish an E-Free church in Casper took place. In 1972 Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church began with 17 members. Rev. Larry Mooreland was called to be the first Pastor in 1973 followed by Phil Anderson, fresh from seminary. In 1977 the church became a self supported local body and in 1978 it purchased property on Casper Mountain Road and called Dr. Stan Durham to serve as Pastor. In 1980 the first building was completed. In 1985 Pastor Mark Benadom accepts the calling to serve in Pastoral ministry. In 1989 Pastor Tim Bowman accepted the call to serve in Pastoral ministry. Then in 2003, Pastor Jack Olsen began his tenure as Senior Pastor. In 2006 the church adopted the name "Cornerstone" to reflect our commitment to Jesus Christ as our Chief Cornerstone. In 2011 Cornerstone finalized an addition to house growing ministry needs. In 2015 Pastor Jace Cloud accepted the calling to serve as Sr. Pastor.
Defining the vision...
In 2019, Cornerstone realized that in order to fully embrace God's command to the church, Sunday services and ministries just weren't enough. In order to best learn and live to be like Christ, the already thriving Small Group ministry became the primary means of community and discipleship. Throughout 2019 and 2020 COVID-19 displayed the desperate need we all have for Biblical Fellowship.
We hope and pray that everyone who calls Cornerstone their home church is joining in the corporate teaching of God's Word, worship, communion, baptism and fellowship that happens through our weekend services, small groups and ministries.

Where we are headed...
In 2022 Pastor Dan Hallock accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor. Cornerstone continues to believe that the corporate gathering of believers through weekend services and the fellowship of believers through small groups is the best way to biblically do church in our culture.
We also work hard to provide necessary training opportunities for all individuals, families and small groups to thrive in their walk with Christ through a knowledge of Him. Finally, we believe that serving together with other members of the local congregation is one of the best ways to grow in community and encourage one another. For a full list of ways to grow as a disciple and serve in the congregation and community, visit the “I'm New” page!
