Our Story

The History

1971

First meeting to establish an E-Free Church in Casper

1972

Church began with 17 members

1973

Rev. Larry Mooreland is called as first pastor 

1975

Phil Anderson, fresh from seminary, called to Pastor 

1977

Church is self supported by local body 

1978

Current land purchased on Casper Mountain Road.

1978

Dr. Stan Durham, local professor and church member, accepts calling to serve in pastoral ministry

1980

The first building was completed

1985

Pastor Mark Benadom accepts calling to serve in pastoral ministry

1989

Pastor Tim Bowman accepts calling to serve in pastoral ministry

2003

Pastor Jack Olsen accepts calling to serve in pastoral ministry

2006

Church adopts the name "Cornerstone" to reflect our commitment to Jesus Christ as our chief cornerstone. 

2011

Cornerstone finalizes addition and building remodle to house growing ministry needs

2015

Pastor Jace Cloud accepts calling to serve in pastoral ministry

2016

Pastor Jace Cloud assumes the role as Sr. Pastor and Pastor Jack Olsen assumes the role as Executive Pastor. The staff and body continue to grow.
